Goeie voornemens, beste wensen en gezinsuitbreiding… een overzicht

Het is ondertussen een jaarlijkse traditie bij ons dat we de beste wensen van binnen- en buitenlandse triatleten voor jullie verzamelen. Mario Mola, Javier Gomez, Pieter Heemeryck, Michaël Schouwaerts, Hanne De Vet en Jan Frodeno begonnen het jaar al met een eerste training. Onder andere Frederik Van Lierde, Marino Vanhoenacker, Luc Van Lierde, Lucy Charles, Sebastian Kienle, Katie Zaferes, Flora Duffy en Patrick Lange keken terug op het afgelopen jaar. De grootste verrassing in de nieuwjaarswensen kwam van Michelle Vesterby, die in 2019 letterlijke hoge verwachtingen heeft. En dit jaar krijgen we zelfs beste wensen vanuit Uganda… En we zijn maar een heel klein beetje jaloers op de nieuwjaarsduik van Vuelta Turistica in Calpe ;-).

It’s pretty fun to look back on this year and I find it crazy how fast yet another one has flown by. There were tumbles, sprints, chances taken, and podiums earned. Some of my favorite parts of the year though are not pictured. It was having different family and friends being at almost every single one of my races. I loved our time in Australia pre Grand Final waking up to the sunrise and going on a helicopter ride above the city with Tommy (and @jakebirtwhistle). Taking a short and speedy trip to Portugal where I had the best croissant ever. Visiting our friends in Isle of Man and exploring a new place. And returning home after being away for 10 months. I’m looking forward to 2019’s adventures! #bestnine

These videos picture my highlights of 2018. My biggest achievement versus my biggest defeat of the year. You may wonder why I‘m sharing the video of my biggest defeat with you. I chose it because I want you to know that I‘ve struggled in the beginning of this year. Sometimes it doesn‘t feel like you‘re on the right path. But the biggest defeat can be followed by a huge achievement. 2018 has proven to me that you can come back stronger and fulfill your dreams, even if you get knocked down.
